Is there anything you can suggest at this point that I could try to get this combination to work? I could see looking at the phone logs that the calls were being placed for about 30 seconds, but apparently there was too much jitter or something for it all to work correctly. Unfortunately my tests to the monitoring service resulted in the system retrying several times but they never got the signals on the other end. I thought perhaps this too might work for the alarm signals so decided to give it shot. They claim that it works fairly well for faxing as it uses a G711 codec. Then I heard about this voip service from NetTalk that lets you plug their Duo device directly into the router. That just left the phone requirement for the alarm system. One thought I had was to cut out the Uverse phone as we really didn't need it for actual talking since we all have cell phones.

I now have read the info that ATT has provided stating how they have made their voice service work reliably with alarm systems and it does seem to in fact work.Īll that is great except for the staggering bills I am starting to get for the Uverse service. I didn't even realize at the time that I had the alarm system setup (it was put in months after the Uverse service was added) that there were any tricky issues with alarms and voip, it all just magically worked from the start. My DSC PC1832 works reliably as far as I can tell when using the Uverse voip service.
